The veteran defender saw red in last Saturday's 1-0 win over Inverness in the Scottish Premier League when he brought down Jonny Hayes.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon was furious with the decision by referee Steven McLean and appealed on the grounds of "wrongful dismissal for denying the opposing team a goal or obvious goalscoring opportunity".
The 34-year-old Swedish centre-back will now be available to travel to Edinburgh for the match against Hibs on Sunday.
