SFA set to suspend winger for alleged simulation
Rangers winger Sone Aluko is facing a two-match suspension from the Scottish Football Association for alleged simulation during his side's 2-1 win over Dunfermline on Saturday.
Former Aberdeen star Aluko went down in the area just before the half hour mark in the game with the Pars at Ibrox.
Referee Steve Conroy awarded the spot-kick which Nikica Jelavic converted, much to the anger of the visiting side, who felt the 22-year-old had gone down too easily.
Speaking after the game, a furious Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre accused Aluko of diving.
And after reviewing the incident the SFA have now given Rangers until 3pm on Wednesday to respond to their notice of complaint, using new fast-track rules designed to deal with cases of simulation.
Should the club decide to contest the two-match ban which is on the table, a fast-track tribunal will then review the incident on Thursday.
Aluko was only making his second appearance for the Glasgow giants after signing on a free transfer in November following his release from Aberdeen over the summer.
