Former Arsenal, Tottenham and Portsmouth trainee makes good start

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has been impressed by 20-year-old trialist Andre Blackman. The former Arsenal, Tottenham and Portsmouth trainee is a free agent after being released by AFC Wimbledon and has been given a two-week opportunity to earn a deal in Scotland. Blackman, who can play in defence or midfield, has made a good start to his fortnight with Celtic and he caught the eye of Lennon in a friendly with Rangers on Monday. "He's a kid who was recommended to us by a friend who runs an Academy for players who are out of contract or have had issues in their life," Lennon said in the Daily Record. "Andre told me that was his first game for a year. He picked up an injury, but he did very well and we're going to keep him here for a couple of weeks. "He's only 20, but I like the cut of him and we'll see how he gets on in the next week. I liked what I saw."
