Striker delighted to have been recommended by Larsson

Celtic have wrapped up the signing of striker Mohamed Bangura on a four-year contract from Swedish side AIK Stockholm. Skysports.com revealed last week that Celtic were closing in on the capture of Bangura following a recommendation by Bhoys legend Henrik Larsson. Bangura has now finalised his move to Parkhead and Bhoys boss Neil Lennon is delighted to have added the Sierra Leone forward to his squad. "We believe Mohamed is a player of real quality and someone who has the potential to make a big contribution to Celtic," Lennon told the club's official website.

Great enthusiasm

"He comes highly recommended by people in the Swedish game. We have had him watched for a year or so, and all the reports have been very positive, and I know Mohamed is excited about joining the club. "He's a young player and someone with great enthusiasm for Celtic and for the challenge ahead, and we're really looking forward to welcoming him to the squad." Celtic are reported to have paid in the region of €2.5million (£2.2m) for Bangura, who is happy to have secured a move to the SPL. Bangura said: "I am delighted to be joining a club the size of Celtic. "I'm flattered that someone like Henrik Larsson would recommend me. I know all about Henrik and what a great player he was for Celtic, and I'm looking forward to joining up with my new team-mates and working hard to do well at Celtic and help the club be successful."
