Hibs boss rewarded for excellent February

Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood has won February's Manager of the Month award with Hearts keeper Marian Kello winning the players' prize. Calderwood endured a slow start to life at Easter Road and, as recently as January, the team were on an unenviable 12-game winless run and among the favourites for the drop. However, the club have been resurgent throughout February having commanded a perfect record with four wins from four to pick up a maximum 12 points. The Player of the Month gong has been given to Hearts' Kello for clean sheets against Hamilton and Aberdeen. Although Hearts began the month with a narrow 1-0 loss at Rangers the club kept out Accies and the Dons along with beating Dundee United 2-1. "Top goalkeepers can consistently pull you out of trouble and Marian has done that tremendously well this season," manager Jim Jefferies told Hearts' official website. "That's a sign of a top, top goalkeeper. He fully deserved the award, I don't think there is any doubt about that. "He might be a contender for the Player of the Year and he's certainly worth considering as he's had a fantastic season for us." It proved a double celebration for Hibs in February with 19-year-old left-back Callum Booth winning the Young Player of the Month award.
