Hearts boss denies injury claims

Hearts manager Jim Jeffries has denied that David Obua has suffered a serious groin injury, despite speculation. The 26-year-old versatile Ugandan has linked up with his national side for their African Nations qualifier against Kenya, but he will play no part after suffering a problem in last weekend's defeat to Rangers. Reports in Africa claim Obua has had an MRI scan which indicates 'serious damage', but Jeffries has played down such fears. He told Hearts News: "David had the scan at the start of the week before he joined up with his international team-mates. "It's not a big problem and there certainly isn't any serious damage. "He had to report to the Ugandan training camp, but I don't think he'll play in the match against Kenya. "At the moment he's a doubt for our game at Aberdeen, but we'll see how he is when he gets back and we'll take things from there." Hearts face a tough trip to the Dons in the SPL after the international break on 16th October.
