Inverness boss Terry Butcher has welcomed positive news on the club's injury front.

McCann could be in contention for Hearts visit

Inverness boss Terry Butcher has welcomed the news three of his players are making positive progress on the injury front. The international break has given his squad more time to work on their fitness and striker Richie Foran (knee) and midfielder Gil Blumenshtein (torn calf) are running again having failed to start a game so far this season. Defender Kevin McCann (groin) has made a major improvement and could even feature in the home game against Hearts a week on Saturday. "Richie and Gil are back running in training and that's a big step forward," Butcher told the club's official website.

Encouraging

"They're still maybe two to three weeks away from playing but they're heading in the right direction now and that's very encouraging. "Kevin's well on the mend and could even have had an outside chance of facing Hibs in Saturday's game at Easter Road, but he's ineligible in any case under the loan deal. "But if he works hard, he should be fully fit for the Hearts game. "The players are refreshed after their break so we're in good shape as we work towards the trip to Edinburgh." Caley travel to the capital this Saturday hoping for a repeat of their thrilling 4-0 win at Dundee United, although they have lost their other two league games so far - both 1-0 home defeats.
