Dons boss not looking to sell striker

Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee has no plans to part company with Chris Maguire permanently this summer. The striker is currently on loan with Kilmarnock and has scored four goals since joining in the January transfer window. McGhee believes regular first-team football has helped Maguire and that he will return to Pittodrie a better player. Although some believe Maguire could be part of a summer shake-up, McGhee wants him to be part of his team next season.

Confidence

"I think being at Kilmarnock has certainly given him some confidence, more first-team experience and some goals, which can only be good for him," explained McGhee. "Chris was in a bit of a rut here and had almost convinced himself he needed a change. "Hopefully this change will have freshened him up and he will be ready to come back here and be part of a successful squad next season."
