Versatile full-back agrees to stay at Pittodrie

Skysports.com understands Richard Foster has agreed terms on a new contract at Aberdeen. Foster, a versatile full-back who has played every position for the club except goalkeeper, has made close to 200 appearances since breaking into Aberdeen's first team. His existing deal was set to expire at the end of the current campaign but Dons boss Mark McGhee has moved quickly to secure his services. Foster had attracted attention from a number of Aberdeen's SPL rivals but was happy to commit his long-term future to Pittodrie. Meanwhile, midfielder Sammy Stewart has left the club by mutual consent. The 19-year-old arrived at Aberdeen in June 2008 from Glenavon but failed to make a senior appearance for the club.
