Bairns boss keen to bring in free agent

Falkirk boss Eddie May is hopeful of securing Portuguese trialist Pele on a contract with the SPL club. The former West Brom and Southampton defender, who cost the clubs £1million each, is available on a free transfer. Pele, 31, has been training with Falkirk, as revealed by skysports.com, and May has been impressed with what he has seen. May believes the experienced free agent would be a quality addition to his squad and is hopeful of reaching an agreement.

Negotiations

"We are currently trying to negotiate something with the boy and I'm quite hopeful that something will be done in the next couple of days," explained May. "I knew of him as a player, he was recommended and I have now seen him with my own eyes in the last few days. "He has a good pedigree and with the quality he's got, if he can get himself a little bit fitter I'm sure he would be a valuable and experienced addition to our squad. "He has said he feels very settled at the football club and he likes what he has seen, so hopefully we can come to some sort of agreement."
