Skysports.com understands Northern Ireland international goalkeeper Jonny Tuffey has turned down Partick Thistle's latest offer of a contract extension.
Tuffey, who has won three caps for Northern Ireland, is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to begin negotiations with other clubs on 1st December 2009.
The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the most promising keepers in Britain since joining Partick in 2006 from Coventry and the club are keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
However, both parties so far have been unable to agree a deal, alerting clubs to his possible availability.
Rangers, Hibernian and Hearts of the SPL have all been long-term admirers of Tuffey, but they may face strong competition from a host of Championship clubs in England.
Although Partick would be due compensation should Tuffey remain in Scotland, the fact that he turns 23 in January means that he could move south of the border on a free transfer, according to Fifa rules.
