Midfielder to remain in League Two for another month

Port Vale have reached an agreement that will see Adnan Ahmed remain at the club for a further month. The 24-year-old initially joined the Valiants from League One outfit Tranmere at the end of January. That agreement expired after Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Luton. However, he impressed Vale boss Dean Glover sufficiently during four outings for the club to persuade him to extend his stay. "At the moment we need bodies in the midfield area and Adnan is available to help us with that," Glover told The Sentinel. "Now he's getting his feet under the table let's hope he can be a good influence on us. "We know he's got qualities, but we need to improve our results because it's not easy coming into a club that's struggling." Vale currently sit 17th in League Two, 13 points clear of the relegation zone.
