Falkirk have stolen in to sign Steven Pressley from under the noses of SPL rivals Inverness. Inverness had been favourites to sign veteran defender Pressley after training with them. However, Falkirk have persuaded the 35-year-old to snub Inverness to make the move to the Bairns. Falkirk boss John Hughes was delighted to land the former Hearts and Celtic defender on a short-term deal until the end of the season. "I'm delighted to sign a player I have admired for many years," Hughes told the club's official website. "His experience and leadership will help shift the responsibility off other players and will also help nurse the younger guys along. "I have to thank the Falkirk boad for making the budget available for Steven." Hughes also confirmed he is taking a look at former Deportivo La Coruna keeper Dani Mallo, 29, who is currently without a club. "If he shows up well, we'll consider offering him a deal also," added Hughes.
