Dundee United skipper signs extension
Dundee United captain Lee Wilkie has signed a new contract to end speculation linking him with a move to Rangers.
The 28-year-old defender has put pen to paper on a three-year extension to his current deal which will keep him at Tannadice until May 2012.
Wilkie joined United on trial ahead of the 2006/07 season after being released by rivals Dundee following three serious knee injuries.
He impressed enough to earn a permanent contract in October 2007 and was named club captain by boss Craig Levein in January 2008.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Dundee United today confirmed that club captain Lee Wilkie had signed a three year extension to his current contract, securing him to the club until May 2012.
"Lee has now played over 80 games since joining Dundee United and is a hugely influential and important player for the club.
