Midfielder signs on initial loan deal

Doncaster Rovers have completed the signing of Stuart Elliott from Hull City. Elliott has joined the League One club on an initial loan deal until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent move. The 29-year-old Northern Ireland international, who signed for Hull City from Motherwell in 2002, is in line to make his debut for Doncaster on Saturday against Millwall. Elliott has spoken of his delight at the switch, expressing his determination to do well for his new side. "I was languishing at Hull City a little bit and me and my family wanted to stay in the catchment area," he told Doncaster's official website. "This was a perfect move for me. There is a fantastic set-up here and it is all geared up for the Championship. "One thing that I can guarantee is that I will give 100 per cent for the club as long as I am here."

Goals

Doncaster Rovers assistant manager Richard O'Kelly added: "Stuart was made available. He is a player who has been there, seen it, done it. "We said that if we were going to bring in a player, it would have to be a player who can add something to the squad. "What Stuart Elliott also gives us is goals. He scored at the highest level and at international level."
