Midfielder ready to sign new two-year contract at Plainmoor

Lee Mansell is ready to pledge his future to Torquay United after being offered a new two-year contract. The midfielder was named Players' Player of the Year after an impressive season at Plainmoor and was a key figure in the Gulls retaining their Football League status. He has now been offered terms to stay until 2012 and Mansell admits he is enjoying his time playing under manager Paul Buckle. "I really have enjoyed this season," he told the Western Morning News. "It's nice being back in midfield again, in the thick of the action, and to be perfectly honest Robbo [Chris Robertson] has had such a great season at right-back. I think it's the right move. "I have chatted with the gaffer and we were saying how it's funny the way things change in football, but that you have to move with the times. "When I arrived here from Oxford. I was deemed a right-back. Now I think the gaffer sees me more as a central midfielder. "At the end of the day, like I have said before, I will play where he wants me to play. I am like any other player and just want to be in the team, and that has always been the bottom line for me."
