Cherries keen to keep veteran striker

Veteran striker Steve Fletcher has been offered a new contract by Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe. Cherries legend Fletcher has been offered a new one-year deal along with Shaun Cooper and Josh McQuoid, while Alan Connell is in contract negotiations. But Sammy Igoe, Scott Guyett and Jeff Goulding are set to leave the club after being informed they will not be offered a new deals. Meanwhile, Warren Cummings is desperate to remain at Dean Court next season.

Fantastic

The 29-year-old's contract is due to expire next month but he is expected to trigger an appearance-related clause which entitles him to negotiate a one-year extension. "It is more than likely that I will be here next season," Cummings told the Bournemouth Echo. "I have never thought about going anywhere else, we have just been promoted and I want to be part of a League One team. "With the squad of players we have got here, and with the manager looking to get in one or two more, I think we have got a real chance of making an impression in the league above. "I am proud to have played for this club for so long and want to play for this club for a lot longer. It is a fantastic place to be and everyone can see we are on the up. As well as promotion, the current board has made a real difference and it feels like a real football club again."
