On-loan midfielder pens two-year Gills deal

Gillingham have tied down Curtis Weston on a two-year deal following his release by Leeds United. The former Swindon Town player had been nearing the conclusion of his loan spell at Priestfield, but will now be staying permanently. The 21-year-old made just one league start during his time at Elland Road, but has featured in all three of Gillingham's League Two games this season.

Pecking order

With Leeds boss Gary McAllister having a plethora of midfielders at his disposal Weston was left well down the Whites' pecking order. Weston will now be focusing all his efforts on helping Gillingham secure a swift return to League One following relegation last term. The midfielder is the second to depart Elland Road this week following Robert Bayly's release.
