Ipswich Town have rejected a bid from Swindon Town for Ronan Murray and have offered the striker a new contract at Portman Road.

Striker and Hyam offered new contracts at Portman Road

Ipswich Town have rejected a bid from Swindon Town for Ronan Murray and have offered the striker a new contract at Portman Road. Murray recently scored twice in 10 appearances during a loan spell at Swindon and the League Two club were keen on a permanent deal. However, Ipswich have turned down the approach and have offered the 20-year-old a 12-month extension to his deal, which is due to expire in the summer. Promising defender Luke Hyam has also been offered fresh terms and Town boss Paul Jewell is hoping the duo accept the deals. "Ronan enjoyed his time at Swindon," Jewell told the club's official website. "They did make a bid for him but we have rejected it and he's now back with us. "I have spoken to Ronan and Luke and we'd like to keep them here beyond the summer. "We're in the process of offering them new contracts for another year and we'll see how things develop."
