Clough believes Rams striker can resume training this week

Derby striker Nathan Tyson is close to returning from a groin injury after almost three months on the sidelines. The former Nottingham Forest player is set to resume training after he picked up the injury in a pre-season friendly against Premier League side Aston Villa. Tyson, 29, made his Rams debut against his former club in September before getting injured again and Derby boss Nigel Clough is delighted that he has almost recovered. "Nathan is due to start training this week, which is a boost for everyone. He has had a frustrating time since joining us so it will be good to see him out on the training pitch with the rest of the lads," Clough told Derby's official website. "We are hoping to get a behind-closed-doors game lined up for the middle of the week to give him half an hour and see how he is shaping up. "I can see Nathan is desperate to make up for lost time because he was so keen to come in and win the fans over after joining from our local rivals."
