Canadian marksman hoping to play as much as possible

St Johnstone's on-loan striker Marcus Haber is hoping for a run in Steve Lomas' first-team after opening his account. The Canadian, who is at McDiarmid Park from West Brom, found the back of the net in Saturday's 3-1 win over Hibernian. He now believes he is ready to make an impact with Saints after seeing last season marred by a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a cruciate injury.

Games

"It's just about getting games and finding confidence in myself and taking my chances when they come and hopefully I do all right for the team," said Haber. "It's tough when you don't play for a while. I was out with an injury for seven months and it takes a little bit of time to come back. "I did my cruciate around this time last season and I only played 14 or 15 games and that was the end. "It was unfortunate but this season it's just my goal to stay healthy and work hard and be patient. "If now is the time that I get to play more minutes then I'm happy. I'm just trying to stay focused."
