Darlington's Adrian Webster has been invited to train with New Zealand.

Darlington midfielder Adrian Webster has been invited to train with New Zealand.

The 24-year-old former Charlton and Colchester star has impressed with The Quakers this term.

He has now come to the attention of All Whites coach Ricki Herbert, who has learnt that Webster was born in New Zealand before moving away as a youngster.

Webster has not been named in the 18-man squad for New Zealand's game in London with Australia in June - but he will train with the party.

"Adrian will be invited to train with us in London after being `discovered' via our identification programme and contacts in the UK," said Herbert.

"He's excited about the opportunity - in fact he's getting married on the 10th but has told his fiancee not to expect too much help in the week of the wedding as he will be training with the All Whites!"

The squad itself sees English based stars Ryan Nelsen, Mark Paston, David Mulligan, Leo Bertos, Chris Killen and Shane Smeltz included.
