Talia blow for Wycombe

Wycombe goalkeeper Frank Talia will be out for up to six months with a knee injury.

Wycombe Wanderers goalkeeper Frank Talia has been ruled out for up to six months after injuring his knee.

The 34-year-old suffered a serious knee injury during training during the week and scans have confirmed the club's worst fears.

Talia will now miss the first-half of the new season, which begins on Saturday when Paul Lambert's men host Wrexham.

The Australian was expected to begin the campaign as Lambert's number one between the sticks, despite the arrival of both Jamie Young and Ricardo Batista earlier in the week.

With Steve Williams moving onto pastures new, Lambert will have to choose between Young and Batista to start against The Dragons in the League Two opener.
