Charlton Athletic continue to set the pace in League One and hold a three-point advantage after Sheffield United suffered a shock defeat at Wycombe Wanderers. Hartlepool United and Preston North End enjoyed respective 2-1 wins and are now joined in the top six by Notts County and Brentford. Bottom club Leyton Orient held Huddersfield Town away from home as Sheffield Wednesday secured a comfortable home win and MK Dons drew on their travels. Johnnie Jackson and Bradley Wright-Phillips were among the scorers as leaders Charlton claimed a 3-1 home success over Chesterfield. Sheffield United retained second place, but suffered a first away defeat of the season after Stuart Beavon's first-half goal earned Wycombe a 1-0 home win. Hartlepool are now up to third spot after substitute Evan Horwood scored an 87th minute winner in a 2-1 triumph at Bournemouth. Preston are also on the rise after seeing out the final quarter of an hour with 10 men after Danny Mayor's goal clinched a 2-1 home win over Tranmere Rovers. Huddersfield dropped out of the top six after blowing a two-goal lead inside the final five minutes folllowing Jamie McCombe's red card to draw 2-2 at home to bottom club Leyton Orient. Notts County took advantage to clamber into the play-off zone as goals from Lee Hughes and Sam Sodje secured a 2-0 home win over Rochdale. Brentford are also in the top six after Uwe Rosler's 10 men battled to a 2-0 success at Oldham Athletic thanks to goals from Jonathan Douglas and Myles Weston. MK Dons slipped outside the play-off positions in the table following a 0-0 draw away to promoted Bury. Gary Madine helped himself to a goal in each half as Sheffield Wednesday posted a 3-0 success over struggling Exeter City at Hillsborough. Anthony Wordsworth scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot as Colchester United won 1-0 at home to Walsall, who had Andy Butler sent off. Peter Murphy's first-half effort was the match-winner as Carlisle United moved above Stevenage in the table following a 1-0 win at Brunton Park. Scunthorpe United won at Glanford Park for the first time this season as Damien Mozika's double earned a 2-1 victory over Yeovil Town.
