Plymouth striker George Donnelly has been given the opportunity to try and earn a loan deal with Southampton.
Argyle manager Paul Sturrock revealed last week he was looking to send out Donnelly so the youngster could gain more first-team experience.
He has now been taken on trial by League One side Southampton and will hope to impress Alan Pardew in training.
Donnelly spent time on loan at Luton earlier this season, having joined Plymouth from Skelmersdale United in March 2008.
