Scunthorpe youngster eases Grimsby keeper problems

Grimsby have signed up-and-coming goalkeeper Josh Lillis on loan from Scunthorpe. The Mariners have secured the 22-year-old on an initial one-month deal, subject to confirmation from the FA and Football League. Lillis has made 17 first-team appearances for Scunthorpe since making his senior debut for the newly-promoted Championship outfit in October 2006. The youngster also played five times on loan at Notts County last season and is the son of former Scunthorpe player and assistant manager, Mark Lillis. Grimsby boss Mike Newell was in need of a new keeper as first-choice keeper Nick Colgan is out injured and Tommy Forecast's one-month loan from Southampton is set to expire.
