Millers off to a flying start in the new League Two season

Rotherham maintained their 100 per cent record in League Two to stay top, while Accrington Stanley earned their first win of the season. Paul Sturrock was left red-faced as his Southend side were spanked by Crawley and Macclesfield showed their teeth as they crushed basement club Hereford. Andy Scott's Rotherham stay top as Adam Le Fondre and Ben Pringle put them in control before Byron Moore scored a consolation goal for Crewe. Wes Fletcher marked his debut with the winning goal of the game as Accrington Stanley beat Bradford 1-0 to claim their first three points of the season.

Defeat

Crawley inflicted Southend's first defeat of the season with a crushing 3-0 win. Dean Howell opened the scoring before Matt Tubbs bagged a brace to seal the success. Macclesfield ensured Hereford stayed at the foot of the table with a 4-0 win. Second half goals from Tony Diagne, Ross Draper and a Ben Tomlinson brace gave the Silkmen three valuable points. Oxford claimed their first win of the season with a 2-0 home victory over Shrewsbury. Simon Heslop opened the scoring after just eight minutes before on-loan Lewis Guy added the second after the interval. AFC Wimbledon notched their second win in the Football League courtesy of a brace from Jake Midson to pile more misery on struggling Plymouth.
Equaliser
Gillingham were held to a 2-2 draw at Barnet after Izale McLeod plundered an injury-time equaliser. Danny Spiller opened the scoring for the Gills before McLeod levelled for the Bees. Jack Payne notched what looked like the winner before McLeod snatched a point for the Bees. Jo Kuffour opened the scoring for Bristol Rovers against Northampton only for Adebayo Akinfewa to equalise just after the hour mark. However, the points were sealed when Matt Harold hit back with the winner. Lee Mansell scored the only goal of the game as Torquay managed to grab a surprise away win at Aldershot to maintain their impressive start to the season. Mark Arber's solitary strike of the game saw Dagenham earn their second win of the campaign as they edged past Paolo Di Canio's Swindon. Aaron Webster's early goal for Burton Albion was cancelled out by Doug Loft's strike five minutes before the interval to earn a point for Port Vale. Jeff Goulding's strike for Cheltenham sandwiched Nick Fenton's opener and Kevin Ellison's injury-time winner for Morecombe.
