Bell-Baggie set for more experience

Reading manager Brian McDermott hopes to loan out promising youngster Abdulai Bell-Baggie again after his return from Port Vale. The 18-year-old winger impressed while with League Two outfit Rotherham United last season, but failed to establish himself during his stint with the Valiants this term. However, McDermott told skysports.com that he expects there to be interest in the pacy youngster, with the Millers thought to be keen on taking him back to South Yorkshire. "If an opportunity arises to loan him out again and we know that he will get the chance to play regularly then we would look to do that," he said.

Good blend

"There will be interest in him because he is a very promising youngster, but until someone makes the call we can't get the ball rolling. "Rotherham did have an interest before he went to Port Vale and he enjoyed his time there last season, but we will just have to wait and see what pops up for him." The Royals have blooded a number of youngsters this season, with Hal Robson-Kanu, Jem Karacan and Michail Antonio breaking into the first team and McDermott is looking forward to seeing them develop as the season progresses. "We've got some good youngsters here, at 20 and 21, but we have managed to mix those in with the likes of Ian Harte, Zurab Khizanishvili and Andy Griffin. "So, we feel that we have got a good blend in the squad, but the youngsters are definitely getting better with the added age and experience that they are picking up with every game that they play."
