Challinor wants County return

Defender Dave Challinor is targeting a March comeback with Stockport County when his second loan spell with Bury ends.

The former Tranmere stopper, along with striker Jon Daly, have been helping the Third Division outfit try to pull away from the relegation dog-fight but are determined to return to Edgeley Park and help County do similar.

Challinor says he wants to return to the Greater Manchester club to sort out where he stands as he believes he can still do a job.

"If I was asked do I think I could come back tomorrow and do a job for Stockport County, I'd say yes," Challinor told the Stockport Express.

"But I'm sure Jon (Daly), Aaron (Lescott) and Jim (Goodwin) would say the same as they've not really been in the side recently either.

"As a player, you feel hard done by going out on loan, but Stockport's results speak for themselves.

"My last game for Bury is on March 6 and after that all I can say is I'll be back at Stockport County.

"It's time to go back and see where I stand, to see about my future. Some people think you can sort that out from here, but that's not the case, you need to be at your own club to see what's going on."
