County wait for Delaney decision

STOCKPORT COUNTY are waiting to hear from Leicester to see if they have accepted their offer for Damien Delaney.

The young Irishman has been on loan at Stockport since November and the First Division strugglers want to make it a permanent deal.

"Dave Bassett has told me that they are having a board meeting at Leicester tonight (Monday)," Palmer told the club's official website. "We've made what we feel to be a sizeable offer for him so we'll find out on Tuesday.

"Damien is desperate to come to County and I've told him that even if he has to go back, the shout is that if he's not involved at Leicester he'll join us at the end of the season."
