Adams unhappy with McCombe's red card against Northampton

Port Vale midfielder Anthony Griffith has been given the all-clear after undergoing a CT scan following the draw at Northampton Town. Griffith was briefly knocked unconscious during the early stages of Saturday's 1-1 draw and was substituted later in the first half. He was taken hospital as a precautionary measure before being discharged after the scan showed up no problems. Meanwhile, Vale boss Micky Adams believes the decision to send off John McCombe cost his side all three points at Sixfields. Adams said: "I'm very disappointed. The game turned on the sending off because there was only going to be one winner at half-time, and that was us. "Northampton were there for the taking and if we'd been left with 11 men on the pitch I'm sure we would have won it. "Northampton didn't have any real chances apart from the penalty and the first offence was outside the box but the referee played advantage. If our player gets sent off for that then their keeper should have gone in the first half."
