Defender unsure of future at Southampton

Teenage defender Joseph Mills admits he would be willing to join Scunthorpe United on a permanent basis. Mills is currently on loan at Glanford Park from Southampton and has made 11 appearances for the League One club. His Southampton contract expires at the end of the season and he is unsure if he will be offered an extension. The 19-year-old has enjoyed his stint with Scunthorpe and would be prepared to discuss a long-term deal with Nigel Adkins' side. "I will have to see if there are any options, and see what Southampton are offering at the end of the season." Mills told the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph. "It's a great set-up and a great club and this is definitely going to be an option if the managing staff want to extend anything further."
