Sheridan rewards starlet for promising displays
Skysports.com can exclusively reveal that Oldham Athletic full-back Kelvin Lomax has signed a new deal with the club.
The 20-year-old had been discarded by previous Latics boss Ronnie Moore having failed to stake a claim for a first team place.
However, current Boundary Park manager John Sheridan re-signed the youngster in the summer of 2006 initially on a month-to-month deal.
Lomax signed a one-year extension last season and has enjoyed more first team opportunities this term under Sheridan and spent a successful period on-loan with League Two side Rochdale.
A spokesman for the club revealed Sheridan has seen sufficient promise in Lomax, who can play at either right or left-back, to offer him a three-and-a half year deal, taking his association with the club through until 2011.
