Milton Keynes Dons midfielder Aaron Wilbraham looks set to miss the rest of the season.

The former Stockport man needs an operation on an ankle problem that could sideline him for the remainder of the campaign.

"I've been waiting and I've kept it a little bit quiet but Aaron does need an operation, and when he has that operation he's going to be out for three months," Dons boss Martin Allen told Milton Keynes Today.

"I'm hoping that it will settle down. But he's had three injections in it now and it's not likely to settle down so very soon he'll have to go in for that operation.

"I don't think it's clearing up, there's not been an improvement.

"I was keeping him back just in case I did need him if the season went on a little bit longer, but it doesn't look like he's going to be right."
