Top three all win as Exeter move off the bottom

Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday all recorded home victories at the top of League One. Exeter City climbed off the bottom of the table as Yeovil Town dropped to the foot of the standings and Leyton Orient secured a dramatic late point at home to Sheffield United. Notts County and MK Dons both suffered frustrating draws in front of their own fans as Hartlepool United came out on top in a five-goal thriller at Chesterfield. Yann Kermorgant helped himself to a first-half brace as leaders Charlton thrashed Carlisle United 4-0 at home, with the visitors also having Matt Robson sent off just before half-time. Jordan Rhodes scored a hat-trick for the second week in a row as his treble helped Huddersfield see off Preston North End 3-1 at the Galpharm Stadium. Sheffield Wednesday maintained their impressive run of form as Rob Jones set the Owls on the way to a 2-0 home triumph over Colchester United. Kevin Lisbie scored an equaliser in the sixth minute of injury-time as 10-man Leyton Orient hit back to snatch a 1-1 draw at home to Sheffield United. Daniel Nardiello grabbed a goal in each half as Exeter came from behind to move off the bottom of the table after a 3-1 home win over Rochdale. Yeovil now occupy 24th spot in the table after a 0-0 draw at Stevenage, who saw John Mousinho miss an 84th minute penalty after the visitors' Luke Ayling had been sent off. Martin Allen could only claim a point against his former club after Notts County drew 1-1 at home with Brentford, who were indebted to Clayton Donaldson's goal right at the start of the second half. MK Dons remain unbeaten at home this season, but have now drawn five of those eight games after a 0-0 stalemate with Scunthorpe United. Bury came from behind to win 2-1 away to struggling Bournemouth, with Andy Bishop scoring the decisive goal after 53 minutes. Substitute Mustafa Tiryaki scored an 80th minute winner as Tranmere Rovers edged out Walsall 2-1 at Prenton Park. Second-half goals from James Wesolowski and Dean Furman helped Oldham Athletic post a 2-0 home triumph over Wycombe Wanderers. James Poole was on target in both halves as Hartlepool hung on to claim a 3-2 success away to lowly Chesterfield.
