Defender considers options

Shrewsbury are willing to let defender Dean Holden leave the club on a free transfer, skysports.com understands. Experienced defender Holden is currently back at Shrewsbury after enjoying a loan spell at Rotherham earlier this season. Holden's contract at Shrewsbury expires at the end of the season and boss Graham Turner is thought to be willing to let him leave as he has enough cover in defence. The news has alerted a number of clubs, including Rotherham, who could now move to bring back the full-back to the Yorkshire outfit. Holden's agent, Clive Hart, has admitted the former Bolton and Oldham man is now ready to move before the close of the transfer window. "Graham Turner at Shrewsbury has indicated he is willing to let Dean move on this month as he is out of contract in the summer and he feels he has enough defenders at the club," Hart told skysports.com. "Dean is in the unique position that he could help two clubs win promotion this season having played for Shrewsbury and Rotherham this campaign. "Dean has a wealth of experience having played in England and Scotland and he still feels he has a lot to offer. "We are open to offers and we will weigh up our options before deciding what club to join."
