At least a month out for left-back, says Blackwell

Sheffield United could be without defender Andy Taylor for up to five weeks after he aggravated a groin injury against Reading. The Blades cruised to a 3-0 win over the struggling Royals on Tuesday but the win was not without a downside as Taylor was forced off at the interval. The 23-year-old entered the game carrying an injury but with boss Kevin Blackwell struggling for numbers Taylor was asked to participate. Despite the three points, the risk looks to have backfired as Blackwell revealed he could be without his player for at least a month. "He has got a bad groin. I asked him to play and it did affect him in the first half," said Blackwell. "But he showed that team spirit and character to play. Depending on the severity, it could be four or five weeks." The win put United back in contention for a play-off position as they rose to sixth place in the Championship table.
