Hartlepool United defender Michael Nelson has handed in a transfer request.
Hartlepool United centre back Michael Nelson has handed in a transfer request with the League One club.The former Bury defender handed Pools a post-dated letter on Friday requesting that he would be allowed to leave the North East-based outfit.
Nelson's request comes after manager Neale Cooper signed fellow centre back Ben Clark from Championship club Sunderland last week.
It remains to be seen if Pools will accept Nelson's request, as the defender still has some time to run on his contract with the club.
