Notts County score vital 3-1 win over Gillingham

PETER SAYS: This was a huge win for Notts County. They'd gone a month without victory and manager Shaun Derry had been thinking about putting his boots on himself. Gillingham hit the post early on but - in an example of how games can change - wonderful feet and a bit of luck from Callum McGregor put them ahead. Bradley Dack got it back to 1-1 and County could have got nervous but McGregor, a Celtic loanee, picked out the top corner to put them in front again. He's an outstanding player and he could play in the Championship no problem whatsoever. He has tremendous ability - as he showed with his second goal. It was a great win for Shaun and much needed as well. He's got a bright future in the game and has a tremendous amount of knowledge. But County need to pick up really quickly and that win makes sure they're not cut adrift.

Cheltenham continue fine run with 1-0 win at Morecambe

PETER SAYS: Cheltenham are up to 13th and eight unbeaten; they're not worrying about the opposition and just concentrating on how they play. When you think about them losing in the play-offs last season and the negativity that surrounded that, they definitely had a hangover this year. Morecambe will see this as an opportunity lost because they've got Bristol Rovers in their next game before they play the likes of Scunthorpe and Fleetwood over the Christmas period, where they've got a fixture list which includes the top teams. But it was a hard fought affair, with glaring misses and people putting bodies on the line, desperate to keep it out of the net. That three points, though, make a massive difference to Cheltenham, it helped them make inroads on the top guys and kept their run going.
