Bryan Hughes has penned a short-term deal with Burton Albion, skysports.com understands.
The Brewers have been in talks with the 34-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Hull City in the summer.
A number of clubs have been tracking him and he has trained with Cardiff, Huddersfield and Walsall.
Now he has put pen-to-paper on a short-term deal taking him into 2011, with a view to agreeing a longer deal at the Pirelli Stadium.
