Skysports.com understands Dagenham & Redbridge are closing in on the signing of Southend United winger Damian Scannell.
The League One new boys have lined up a deal for Scannell after seeing out his contract at Roots Hall.
Southend were keen to keep the 25-year-old and offered him a new contract, but Scannell has snubbed their offer and has decided to leave the club.
The Shrimpers revealed last week that Scannell was due to join an unnamed League One club and it appears Dagenham have won the race for his signature.
The news is a boost for Daggers boss John Still as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
