Striker to leave Robins after landing two-year Vale Park deal

Port Vale have agreed a two-year deal with out-of-contract Cheltenham striker Justin Richards. The Robins were desperate to keep hold of their leading scorer from last season but the 29-year-old has opted to move away from Whaddon Road. He will officially sign a contract at Vale Park when his Town deal expires on 1st July. The former West Brom, Bristol Rovers and Peterborough frontman bagged 15 goals last term to help Cheltenham avoid the drop. And new manager Micky Adams is hoping he can provide the firepower to send Vale into League One. He said: "He is a player we have looked at a number of times and I believe he will add something for us. "We will have a tough pre-season when the players report back in July, and I am sure that Justin will want to make his mark on the squad at the earliest possible opportunity."
