Striker secures early release from contract

Shrewsbury Town have let Omer Riza go after agreeing to release the striker from his contract. Riza joined Shrewsbury last year, but started only one game in League Two for the club and also failed to score. He missed three months earlier in the season due to an ankle injury and manager Paul Simpson has allowed the former Arsenal youngster to move on. "Omer came to see me to discuss his position at the club and as always I was honest with him and told him I couldn't see him being a regular in our side this season," Simpson told the club's official website. "With this in mind he decided that he wanted to be released from his contract and an agreement was made for an early termination. "I'd like to thank Omer for his efforts whilst he has been with the club and wish him all the best for the future. "This now leaves us short in the squad and we will endeavour to find a suitable replacement who can help take the club forward."
