Middlesbrough have extended Marcus Bent's loan spell from Birmingham until 16th January. Bent joined Boro on a two-month emergency loan in October and in that time has started three games and appeared in four more as a substitute for the Teessiders. Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan revealed on Wednesday the club were in talks about keeping the 31-year-old and now Birmingham have agreed to let him stay at the Riverside Stadium for two more weeks. He has also been cleared to play for Middlesbrough in their FA Cup third-round tie against Manchester City this weekend
