Trialists Samba and Spencer not offered deals

Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson has decided against offering trialists Cherno Samba and Scott Spencer contracts. The striking duo have been training at Town and were both involved in recent friendlies, however Wilson says the pair failed to produce enough quality. Spencer is on the lookout for a new club after being released by Everton while Samba has been without a club since March after leaving Finnish outfit FC Haka.

Not enough quality

"They won't be kept on," he told the Swindon Advertiser. "We don't think they've particularly done anything wrong, but I think we're just looking for a little bit of extra quality if we can. "We want something different, something extra, and unfortunately from their point of view it may be good for someone else, but it's no better than what we have at the club at the moment. "We have to look at something better than that to take us forward. It's nothing detrimental to them but that's just the way we have set ourselves up with the squad."
