Shrewsbury have confirmed that Craig Dobson has been invited to the club for a trial.
The winger is a free agent after his short-term deal with Brentford expired at the end of last season.
He has now linked up with the League Two club and will appear in Wednesday night's friendly against West Brom.
Manager Paul Simpson will also assess the 25-year-old in training before deciding whether to offer him a contract.
"We've got Craig Dobson who took part in the youth side's game at Bridgnorth," Simpson told the club's official website.
"He showed some good touches and I've been impressed with what I've seen from him."
