Cheltenham striker joins Brentford

Brentford boss Andy Scott has bolstered his striking options by bringing in Damian Spencer on loan from Cheltenham. Spencer leaves the cash-strapped League One strugglers to join the League Two leaders for the remainder of the season. Jordan Rhodes' parent club Ipswich have confirmed that the on-loan youngster is facing six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a broken foot in Tuesday's defeat to Chesterfield. And with Nathan Elder still recovering from the horrific facial injuries he sustained in the draw with Rotherham, Scott was short on options. Spencer has scored 37 goals in 129 starts in all competitions for Cheltenham, with his three this season coming in an eventful 5-3 home defeat to MK Dons, in which he was also shown the red card. Spencer now looks set to make his debut in Monday's clash with Dagenham & Redbridge, live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1.
