Dagenham & Redbridge hope to finalise the signing of defender Scott Doe in the next few days.

Defender's move close to being finalised

Dagenham & Redbridge hope to finalise the signing of defender Scott Doe in the next few days. Doe agreed a two-and-a-half year contract with Dagenham at the start of this month after being released by non-league side Weymouth. The deal has yet to be ratified, but Daggers boss John Still is expecting to have Doe available for selection within the next week. Still said: "It should go through in the next few days, subject to clearance from the Football League. "Scott has played for England C, he was Weymouth player of the year last year and for all intents and purposes, would have been again this year." Meanwhile, Daggers striker Mark Nwokeji has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a cruciate ligament injury. The 27-year-old, signed last May from Staines, has made 20 appearances this season, scoring five goals.
