Midfielder extends contract until 2010

Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Peter Gain has signed a new one-year contract extension. Gain joined the Daggers on a free transfer in January from Peterborough United and has established himself as a key player in John Still's plans. He has made 34 appearances for the League Two club in all competitions, with his only goal coming in a 2-0 win over Morecambe in February. The 31-year-old's deal was due to expire at the end of this season, but he will now stay with the Daggers until the summer of 2010. Meanwhile, Daggers youngster Anthony Cook, who has made one substitute's appearance for the first team, has joined Carshalton Athletic on a month's loan.
