Irishman joins Barnet from Cork

Barnet have strengthened their squad with the signing of Irish striker John O'Flynn from Cork City. The 26-year-old has an impressive record of 68 goals in 138 starts for the eircom League of Ireland side and has played for his country at Under-21 level. Manager Paul Fairclough has been chasing a proven goalscorer for much of the summer and will hope O'Flynn's arrival can help fire the Bees up the League Two table. O'Flynn has completed a medical and agreed a deal but the move is subject to international clearance being given. O'Flynn is currently sidelined with an ankle injury and may not return to action until the home game against Morecambe on 13th September. He previously played for Peterborough as a youngster and is determined to make an impact. "I have unfinished business in English football," O'Flynn told the club's official website. "I am here to prove a point."
